What is a target price?
The share price level an analyst estimates for a stock, usually within a one-year horizon.
Explanation
Published along with a recommendation. It's the result of a valuation model, not a forecast — the model relies on assumptions that may not materialize.
Target prices should be treated as opinions, not facts, and it's more useful to observe their changes rather than their absolute levels. A wave of target price increases after an earnings report reveals more about a shift in market sentiment than a single number.
Example
The median target price from 24 analysts is PLN 180, compared to the current share price of PLN 150 — the analyst market sees 20% upside.
