What to know before choosing

Bonds act as ballast in a portfolio: when stocks fall, their prices usually remain more stable or even rise, which limits the overall drawdown. The cost of this stability is clear — in the long term, bonds yield less than stocks.

The key metric is duration: the longer it is, the more strongly the fund's price reacts to changes in interest rates. A long-term fund can lose over ten percent when rates rise — which surprises many people, because 'bonds' sound safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy these funds through a Polish broker?

Yes — this is a catalog of funds listed on European exchanges, accessible from a typical Polish brokerage account. However, the availability of a specific fund depends on your broker, and it's worth checking before placing an order.

What's the difference between an accumulating and a distributing fund?

Accumulating funds reinvest dividends internally, while distributing funds pay them out to your account. For long-term saving, accumulating funds are usually more tax-efficient because you only pay tax when you sell.

Where can I check a fund's fees and holdings?

In the ETF scanner within the Portevo app — there, numbers (TER, holdings, performance, currency) are pulled live for the selected fund.
